The winners of this beauty pageant get the titles: Miss Commonwealth Country, Miss Teen Commonwealth Country or Mrs Commonwealth Country (where Country is their country of origin) and they will go to London with the organizers to compete for the International title at Miss Commonwealth International 2013.
Miss Commonwealth International is unique amongst “world” beauty pageants because those who win the various titles, for example Portugal Queen of friends of the Commonwealth (a heat winner) and International Queen of friends of the Commonwealth (the semi-final winner) hold their titles in perpetuity. They are tasked with working for charity in their own country for life. The organisation is run by Dr Patricks. The Triple Crown Queens – Miss Teen, Miss & Mrs – are called upon throughout the year to appear at events in a fund-raising capacity – for examples: Opening a new McDonalds, appearing at one of the Olympic Torch Relay events & visiting the Olympic Village.
There is also a Miss Country Queen of Friends of the Commonwealth title which is an opportunity for nations friendly to the Commonwealth to become part of the community – Portugal for example.
